Energy Conservation

City Light & Power’s energy conservation measures (ECMs) include preliminary assessments (PA), investment grade audits (IGA), project scoping, cost and saving analysis, design, engineering, project management and measurements and verifications (M&V).

Improving energy efficiency for commercial buildings has become a staple in the ongoing initiative to reduce energy consumption across government facilities, universities, and commercial and industrial operations nationwide.

The U.S. Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy points out that energy-efficiency retrofits can be a bonus for commercial real estate when it comes to leasing the office space. “Retrofits are often used as opportune time to install distributed generation to a building. Energy-efficiency retrofits can reduce the operational costs, particularly in older buildings, as well as help to attract tenants and gain a market edge.”
