Assistant Quality Manager - Electrical 

Reports to: CLP Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD

City Light & Power, Inc. has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable and responsive private utility development leader, and is seeking qualified candidates with 1-3 years Quality Assurance - Quality Control/Utility Industry experience within electrical construction of transmission, distribution or substations to join our team in Maryland.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage implementation and maintenance of QA/QC programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.

  • Review project plans and specifications for accuracy.

  • Review laboratory and field testing.

  • Ensure that all preventive and corrective actions performed for the project/site are resolved in a timely manner that satisfies all client, regulator and company quality requirements.

  • Review and ensure that project/site quality documentation is issued and maintained per client, regulatory and company quality requirements.

  • Inspect and document contract installation/service workmanship in accordance with company standards and documents.

  • Assist supervisors and Foremen in following up on unacceptable inspections to ensure work is completed to satisfactory levels.

  • Maintain appropriate records for management review

  • Interact with all stakeholders during progress meetings and quality control specific discussions

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering with field experience or equivalent years of experience.

  • One (1) to Three (3) years or more of QA/QC experience required in the Utility Industry and knowledge of electric distribution, transmission and substation projects is preferred.

  • Experience in planning, performing and reporting QA Audits and inspections.

  • Experience with document reviews, including revised project procedures.

  • Experience in the maintenance and retention of QA documents and records.

  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills.

  • Must be a team player and be able to work with various partners from start to finish.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.  Military Base Access is required for this position.

  • Valid Driver’s License Required
